OpenX is an open source ad server used to manage advertising on over 100,000 websites across the globe. You can used OpenX Ads Server in two ways, either hosted service or as downloadable software (OpenX installed on your own server).

As an OpenX Admin for almost a year now, I’ve experienced a decent free Ads server platform for managing my client’s advertising. You have the ability to take control of your ads and maximize your ad revenue and relevance. You can serve all sorts of media, It works with all kinds of ad formats, ranging from banners to rich media to ad network ads (such as Google AdSense) and it’s designed to deliver your ads as fast as possible, regardless of the number of ads on each page, you can target ads by geography (OpenX Geo Targetting Features), and serve ads to multiple sites from a single OpenX server.

OpenX Hosted is completely free to publishers who serve less than 25 million ad impressions a month. For publishers serving more than 25 million ad impressions a month, the company will charge an affordable amount for the service. Publishers can also upgrade their accounts at any time to premium hosted packages that include additional ad impressions, support resources, service level agreements and customized solutions.
